Fermented Tomato Salsa Recipe 🍅
📝 Ingredients
- Tomatoes – 6 to 7 medium
- Onions – 4 small
- Green Chillies – 4
- Garlic cloves – 8
- Capsicum (Yellow) – 1 piece
- Fresh Coriander – 2 bunches
- Lemon – 3
- Dried Oregano – 2 tsp
- Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
👨🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prep the Veggies
Chop all the tomatoes, onions, chillies, garlic, capsicum, and coriander into small pieces.
- Mix with Spices
In a large mixing bowl, add the chopped vegetables along with oregano, chilli powder, and lemon juice.
Mix thoroughly until everything is well combined.
- Pack into the Jar
Transfer the mixture into a clean 1-litre fermentation jar.
Pack it down tightly to remove air pockets.
- Add Weights
Place the glass weights on top and press down so the veggies are submerged in their juices.
Make sure everything stays under the liquid.
- Seal & Ferment
Close the jar with the lid and attach the airlock.
Fill the airlock with water.
- Fermentation Process
Leave the jar at room temperature to ferment for 3–4 days.
Taste daily to check the flavor.
- Store
Once the salsa reaches the desired tanginess, replace the airlock with a storage lid and refrigerate.
