QUESTIONS?

Common questions.

Why borosilicate glass instead of regular glass?+

Borosilicate handles temperature swings better — pour hot brine in, transfer to fridge, no cracking. Regular glass cracks under thermal shock.

Will it fit my existing kit?+

Yes if you have a GutBasket kit. For other brands, the wide-mouth thread is standard — fits 90% of mason jar accessories.

How do I clean it?+

Dishwasher safe (top rack). Or hand wash with hot water + mild soap. For stuck-on residue, soak overnight with baking soda.

Lifetime use — how long is "lifetime"?+

As long as the glass doesn’t break. We’ve had customers using their original jars for 4+ years.

Is the lid airtight?+

Yes when sealed properly. For active fermentation, attach an airlock instead — the airtight lid will pressurise from CO2 buildup.

Microwave safe?+

Yes — without the lid. Borosilicate handles microwave heat. Don’t microwave with the metal lid attached.

Replacement parts?+

Lids and grommets are sold separately. Glass jar is replaced under warranty for manufacturing defects.

Storage when not in use?+

Air-dry completely before storing. Stack with lids loose to avoid trapping moisture.
