Cucumber-Mint Cooler
Cucumber Mint Cooler is a light, cooling probiotic drink that blends cucumber’s natural freshness with mint’s soothing aroma.

Ingredients
Everything you need.
- 200 g cucumber (peeled or unpeeled, chopped or grated)
- 80–100 ml fresh lemon juice (from 3–4 lemons)
- 10–15 fresh mint leaves
- 60–75 g raw cane sugar or jaggery
- 1 sachet Gutbasket Ferment Spice Mix
- 1.75–1.8 L filtered water
Method
Step-by-step.
- Prepare the Ingredients. Wash the cucumber and mint leaves. Chop or grate the cucumber (you can keep the peel for added fiber).
- Add to the Jar. Place the chopped cucumber and mint leaves in a clean 2L fermentation jar.
- Add Spice Mix and Water. Add the Gutbasket Ferment Spice Mix, lemon juice, and sugar or jaggery to the jar. Top up with filtered water until the total volume reaches about 1.75–1.8 L. Leave about 2 inches of headspace at the top of the jar to allow room for gases to build during fermentation.
- Seal with an Airlock. Close the jar with an airlock lid for safe, anaerobic fermentation. Fill the airlock halfway with clean water so gases can escape safely without letting air or contaminants in.
- Ferment Naturally. Keep the jar at room temperature (22–30°C) for 2–3 days or until it turns slightly tangy and aromatic. Shake gently once daily.
- Strain and Chill. Strain the liquid into a clean glass bottle or jar and refrigerate.
- Optional Fizz. For extra carbonation, bottle tightly and ferment for one more day before chilling.
